Paperback Printing Options
Most paperbacks we produce are perfect bound, with pages glued securely at the spine with a clean, square edge for durability and a professional finish. But you’re not limited to one size or specification. We print books in all UK and US trim sizes, from pocket-sized A6 (148 mm x 105 mm) up to A4 plus (320 mm x 320 mm). Non-standard sizes are welcome, just indicate your preference on our estimate request form or download our UK book sizes guide.
You can also choose from a wide range of paper stocks and cover finishes to create a custom look for your book:
Interior papers:
- Offset papers from 80 gsm to 120 gsm
- White 80 gsm and Cream 70 gsm Bookwove
- Silk and gloss art papers from 115 gsm to 170 gsm
Covers:
- Boards in 230, 300 and 350 gsm
- Matt, gloss or soft-touch lamination for a premium feel
We print:
- Black-and-white text only
- Black-and-white with line drawings and photographs
- Colour throughout or a mixture of both*
* If only a few pages are in colour, we charge the colour rate for those pages only, not for the whole book. Many other printers charge the entire book at a colour rate even if it contains just a handful of colour pages. At 4edge we keep costs transparent and fair.
