Established in 2003, 4edges’ co-founder David Button realised that book production requirements were changing; publishers were demanding less in terms of quantity and more in terms of services. Keeping their titles in print became a challenge and therefore more reliance on technology was needed to ensure efficiencies whilst maintaining high quality expectations.

Digital book printing pioneers
When 4edge was established we quickly adopted new and revolutionary digital book printing technology to become pioneers within what was then an antiquated industry dominated by offset litho. We were the first UK digital book printer to install a perfect binding system designed specifically for short run and print on demand books – meaning we could set-up in thirty seconds, rather than thirty minutes.
4edge are market leaders in high quality digital short run printing of paperback and hardback books and journals in mono and colour.
Our focus is on offering excellent production values and service, but at competitive rates. We also offer eBook conversion and distribution services and trade book binding
High quality product
In addition, while we offer a high quality product we are also flexible and can usually match your preferred specifications in terms of paper and cover stocks, and choice of binding – whether it be perfect or sewn. Based in Hockley, Essex, we work with publishers of all sizes across the UK.
Today, this technology is still in a state of flux as new and emerging technologies are in development. 4edge are still very much at the forefront of these developments.
